Thumb or finger sucking in infants
| ||||||||||
|
|
"Dr. Asensio, should I worry about thumb or finger sucking?" |
|
Thumb sucking is perfectly normal for infants; most
stop by the age of two. Prolonged (beyond age 5 or 6 years) thumb
sucking can create crowded, crooked teeth or bite problems. At Stanley H Asensio DMD we
will be glad to suggest ways to address a prolonged thumb-sucking habit. Call us at (888) 893-3441 for more information. |

*Minimal sedation, also known as anxiolysis, is the use of oral and inhalation medications to relieve anxiety before and during dental
procedures that minimally reduce consciousness in an effort to reduce fear and anxiety, while still maintaining normal breathing
and the ability to respond appropriately to physical and verbal stimulation.
